FACTS.ORG SERVICES
High School Planning - Selecting the right courses in high school and planning ahead is more important than ever. Qualifying for new graduation options, Bright Futures Scholarship eligibility, the Talented 20 program, and higher education admissions, all depend in part on course selections. But don't worry - FACTS.org is your advising source! Each of the links below will provide you with information on current requirements and policies that will help you plan for high school and beyond.

High School Academic Planning - The High School Academic Evaluations provide public high school students a review of their academic progress. Evaluations are based on current program or high school requirements and the most recent transcripts received from a student's school district/county.

Career Planning - FACTS.org provides statewide access to eCHOICES and SIGI PLUS web sites to assist users in assessing their work-related interests and skills to determine a career path. These online career guidance programs also provide national and state-specific occupational information. Knowing career goals early on can help make course decisions easier and avoid taking unnecessary classes.

Institution Info - Information is available for over 200 Florida institutions - all of the state's 11 public colleges and universities, 28 public community colleges, 40 public vocational-technical centers, 27 member institutions of Independent Colleges & Universities of Florida (ICUF), and 95 independent degree-granting institutions.

Degree Program Search - Users can search for a program of study by subject area, institution, or degree level for most of these institutions to find out where programs are offered in Florida. The Degree Program Search also indicates an institution's accreditation status for quick reference and sample degree audits, which lists the program requirements.

College Locator - Interactive maps place the state's public institutions and ICUF institutions by geographic location with links to the institution home pages. Independent institutions, licensed by the Commission for Independent Education (CIE), can be located by linking on to CIE's web site.

FACTS.ORG AT A GLANCE
Help On Computer
Admissions - The FACTS.org online college admissions application saves time as it allows users to complete one application and apply to several institutions in Florida public and private. The system also provides links to admission pages at individual higher ed institutions for deadlines, policies, and fees related to applying for admission.

Financial Aid - FACTS.org helps students and families locate financial assistance opportunities. Students can complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA) online, as well as check their application status. Bright Futures Scholarship information and direct links to institution-specific scholarships are also available.

College Degree Audits/Evaluations - FACTS.org allows users to perform several types of degree audits/evaluations, which compare currently enrolled college student transcripts to requirements for degrees offered at Florida's higher education institutions. These audits are powerful tools for evaluation a student's progress toward a degree, and by far, are the most popular feature of FACTS.org.

College Transcripts - Currently enrolled college students can directly access their transcripts and grades to track their progress. Previously enrolled students and alumni can also access their transcripts to view their academic history and plan for continuing education.

Transient Registration - Postsecondary institutions are currently in the process of implementing a new transient registration form on FACTS.org. The e-transient form simplifies the admissions process by allowing students currently enrolled at a public college or university to apply for permission to take a course at another institution on a temporary basis.

Advising Resources - Numerous advising reference materials and electronic documents are housed on the system such as Statewide Articulation Manuals, the Florida Counseling for Future Education Handbook, Florida Postsecondary Residency Guidelines, Common Prerequisite Manuals, and ICUF Articulation Manuals. The Articulation Coordinating Committee (ACC) guidelines and course equivalents for administering Credit-by-Exam are also available via FACTS. These official documents are easy to access, search, and update. Online availability also reduces costs for reproduction and mailing.

Links - In addition to THE links already mentioned, FACTS.org also provides links to specific institution web pages and web sites of interest for users including:
Distance Learning web sites such as Florida Virtual School, Florida Virtual Campus, and the Florida Community College Distance Learning Consortium; Library web sites such as WebLUIS and LINCCweb; Registration, Fees & Payments, Student Services, Orientation, and Disability home pages; and college General Bulletins.
