| "Say Cheese" Teach for Excellence Grant |
|
Generous Donations in Action The specific children addressed in this grant are students, age 3 to 22 years old, who are too medically fragile to attend school. Many of these children began life as normal, healthy babies with the world at their feet but, due to automobile accidents, near drownings or catastrophical medical events, they and their lives are forever changed. Instead of soccer balls and bicycles, they require oxygen tanks and feeding tubes. What they do still have in common with the child they once were was the desire to do something on their own. They are the children who again and again prove people wrong; who bring tears to six foot man’s eyes the first time we place a switch in an accessible place so that they can say “I love you Daddy”.
