DISCRETIONARY LOTTERY FUNDS

The 1996 Florida Legislature adopted an amendment to Section 24.121, Florida Statutes, requiring that local school districts make available to their publics, on a quarterly basis, the expenditure of lottery funds allocated to the respective districts. The new reporting requirement also mandates that the report be distributed in "an easy-to-understand format."

Attached is the most recent quarterly report for fiscal year 2007-2008 for the Pinellas County Schools. We have selected a reporting format that relates our lottery expenditures to the School Board policy on the use of these funds (7.01 (4)). This report is distributed to schools, departments and the news media.
