Lansing K. Johansen has been Pinellas County Schools Chief Business Officer since 1987. In this position, he oversees Facilities and Operations, Human Resources, Finance and Business Services, Budget and Resource Allocation, Governmental Services, and Cash Management. Mr. Johansen received his Bachelors and Masters of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois; additionally he has passed the CPA examination.
With over 43 years of business experience, Mr. Johansen devoted 28 years in public schools business management. Prior to coming to Pinellas County Schools, Mr. Johansen was the Chief Financial Officer for Leon County Schools, Florida and Controller for Florida State University. In 1991 Mr. Johansen served as the President for Florida School Finance Officers Association (FSFOA) and chairman of Florida School Finance Council. Before relocating to Florida, Mr. Johansen served as Controller for University of Arkansas, as well as Chief Internal Auditor for University of Illinois, Urbana Campus and subsequently Finance Director for the University of Illinois Foundation.
