Only those students entering kindergarten, sixth- or ninth-grades will be guaranteed their close-to-home school. All other students will be assigned to a close-to-home school on a space-available basis. For more specific information, please contact Student Assignment (727) 588-6210 or the district Call Center (727) 587-2020.

- Number of students who accepted a magnet, fundamental or career academy seat for 2008-09 (these students were removed from the population to be assigned).
- Density of student populations in various parents of the county.
- Historical zoning patterns where applicable.
- Sibling priority implications.
- Extended grandfathering implications.
- Consideration of major roads and thoroughfares.
- Natural boundaries such as lakes, parks, etc.
- Input received during listening sessions and from other written correspondence.
- Input from school principals.
- Class size amendment implications.
- Anticipated school closings.
- Use of existing grid zones.
- Five-Year Capital Outlay Plan
