Student Registration for 2008-09
Summer Process
New students to Pinellas County Schools will be assigned to a close-to-home school on a space-available basis. A close-to-home school is the school that has been designated for each student based on such factors as proximity, program capacity and feeder patterns from one school level to another. To register for school during the summer months, simply follow the steps below.
STEP 1
Visit any school or the student assignment department that will have additional staff on hand to meet your needs in order to get a User I.D. and password. Bring a state-issued photo I.D. with you. Bring proof of address (i.e. utility bill for power, water or cable, rental agreement or lease) to verify address entered into the computer.
Note: During the summer, hours of operation may vary – parents should call before going to a school site. The hours of the locations listed below will be 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

STEP 2
Use the Student Reservation System at the high school or on your home computer (go to www.pcsb.org) to reserve a seat at a school.
STEP 3
Visit the assigned school before the reservation expiration date, Aug. 21, to deliver the required documents (see below).
Open Enrollment
If you do not want the school that has been assigned to your child, you may try to get into another school during this period. Assignments will be based on a space available basis.
Parents wanting to change schools must indicate their requested school(s) using the Student Reservation Software during these dates.
Open enrollment school assignments are made based on space availability and rules for making assignments. Parents will be notified of new school assignments by e-mail or phone call.
Open Enrollment Guidelines
Parents may indicate up to three options in priority order and must agree to take any of the indicated schools. Assignments will be based upon proximity and space availability.
