Hello, Pinellas Park Elementary Parents. This is Principal Freeman.
I want to invite all VPK-2nd grade students and parents to attend Polar Express Night on Thursday, Dec. 15th from 6-6:45 PM. Come enjoy a ride on the Polar Express, cookies and a craft. Invitations went home earlier in the week. Please check your child’s backpack for the flier, it was printed on orange paper. Following Polar Express, our Winter Concert will take place in the multi-purpose room starting at 7 PM. Our Bear Chorus and all instrument clubs will perform holiday songs and instrumentals. We invite all families to partake in this joyous event as we get closer to winter break.
Speaking of winter break, please mark your calendars
There is no school Dec. 19-Jan. 2. Students return to school on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
Celebrating is a big part of PPE. Today students who turned in their Thanksgiving reading log had a sno cone party! Almost 100 students attended. Some boys and girls will participate in a JiJi Stmath popcorn party for their STmath growth, individual students were awarded $20 gift certificates for reading books on myON, students in Breletic, Boothe, Cavazuti, D’Azzo, Hart, Manion. Schutt, Shollenberger, Sievert, Singleton and Tannock’s classes are celebrating their 95% attendance rate with takis! Classes with the most iStation learning gains are Lintz, Zuloaga, Bodie, Grills and Hasson—these classes crushed it and had a candy party!
Over winter break students will receive another log and students who read 2 books on myON during the winter break will be automatically entered to win one of these great prizes: a Kindle Fire HD, signed Tampa Bay Lightning jersey and Lightning tickets, and much more!
Recently parents were asked to take two (2) surveys. We know it is a lot to ask and apologize that the survey dates were so close together, but your feedback is very important in improving our school for your child. We highly encourage you to take our school accreditation survey. The link is on our PPE webpage, PPE PTA facebook page and a QR code was included in our newsletter. If you stop in the front office our staff can assist you in completing the survey too. Taking a survey is an easy way to be engaged in your child’s education.
A reminder that if your student attend STEM Academy there is no STEM Academy on Thursday, Dec. 15th.
We look forward to seeing you at Polar Express and Concert Night at Pinellas Park Elementary where we come to learn, and we love learning! Go Bears!
