Pinellas Park Elementary

Home of the Bears

Hello, Pinellas Park Elementary Parents. This is Principal Freeman with updates and reminders.

There is no school Monday, Jan. 16th as we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Again no school tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 16th.

A lot of important papers were sent home on Friday.  Report cards, the school newsletter (always printed on blue paper), dental sealant permission slips and the parent survey. Please review all documents and return the following to the classroom teacher: Signed report card envelope, completed bubble sheet from survey and signed dental sealant permission slip. We ask that you do so by Friday.

We hope you join us at our annual Publix Math Night on Thursday, Jan. 19th from 5:30-7 PM. This is a fun family event that helps our kiddos learn that mathematical thinking is a part of everyday life. It’s also a great way to get your weekly grocery shopping done at the same time.

SAC meeting is 3:30 on Jan. 19th at PPE.

Get ready for Celebrate Literacy Week Jan. 23rd-27th. The week includes:

Monday, Jan. 23:  We begin the celebration by having parents join kids for breakfast (8-8:30) then go to classrooms to see where the magic happens every day.  You will see your child participate in our school-wide reading block. This your opportunity to watch your child and your child’s teacher in action from 8:35-9 AM. We are encouraging students to dress like Minions as we of the Million Minute Marathon.

Tuesday, Jan. 24: We are wild about reading! Bring in a stuffed animal (16 inches or smaller)

Wednesday, Jan. 25: We are reading rock stars! Dress like a rock/pop star.

Thursday Jan. 26: 100th day of school! I will still be reading when I’m 100! Dress like a 100 year old.

Friday, Jan. 27: Score with books! Wear team gear or PPE spirit shirt

So again, we encourage you to be engaged your child’s learning by signing & returning important papers, joining us for breakfast and a classroom visit on the 23rd and supporting your child as he/she celebrates literacy. Together, our students will be successful!

We look forward to seeing you Tuesday seated and ready to learn by 8:30 AM at Pinellas Park Elementary where we come to learn, and we love learning! Go Bears!
