Susan (Sue) Heaton, Financial Aid Assistant

Sue Heaton is the assistant in the financial aid department. Before coming to this office, she spent 17 years working in various positions in the Pinellas County School System. She has worked in both the high school and elementary school setting as a paraprofessional, records clerk and data management technician.

Her primary responsibility in the financial aid office is maintaining and adding information to the large databases used in the office. In Addition . . .

Ms. Howell and Ms. Heaton organize and distribute district, state, and federal materials for financial aid, scholarship, and community service information. The includes items such as flyers, pamphlets, booklets, brochures, packets, and forms which go out to Pinellas county students and their parents or guardians.

These materials are supplied to the high schools, hospital/homebound, dropout prevention programs, disciplinary centers, Life Skills, adult evening and community schools, ESE centers, the sites for the yearly Financial Aid Seminars and to various other locations and personnel on a regular basis.

A list of current scholarships, "Monthly Opportunities", is e-mailed to school counselors the 1st day of each month during the school year. This list is available in school guidance offices, at the district office and on our Financial Aid web sites. Please visit this web site at http://www.pinellas.k12.fl.us/finaid/GENERAL/monthlyopps.htm to see the current list of scholarships.
