Free Driver Education Summer Session Dates Set Pinellas County Schools will offer free driver education sessions this summer to both public and private school students.
There will be 12-day sessions at Clearwater, Countryside, Largo and St. Petersburg high schools—June 8-25 and June 29-July 16, from 7:30a.m.-1:00p.m. There will be 10-day sessions at Dixie Hollins, Dunedin, East Lake, Lakewood, Northeast, Palm Harbor University and Pinellas Park high schools—June 8-23 and June 24-July 9, from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Requirements: • Students must be at least 15 years old. • Two absences results in an automatic withdrawal from course if it’s a 10-day session, 2.5 absences if it’s a 12-day session. • Three tardies equals one absence.
There is a 42-student maximum for each session, and Session I must be full before the second session begins registration. Students without a restricted driver’s license will have to pay $32.25 to the Tax Collector’s Office and must have a birth certificate and social security card.
