To be eligible to coach athletics, candidates must either hold a valid Florida Educator's Certificate or a valid Florida Athletic Coaching Certificate AND be hired as an employee of Pinellas County Schools. Candidates who do not currently hold the required certification, may be considered for employment provided they apply for and meet the requirements for a Temporary Athletic Coaching Certificate. District personnel will provide assistance to applicants who have been recommended for a coaching position. The first step in the employment process, to be hired as a coach, is to contact the schools where there are vacancies. All coaches must provide appropriate references, be fingerpinted, screened and meet the Pinellas County Schools' hiring guidelines.
