FOOD Services

Department: Food Services

Position: Food Service Assistant Substitute

Pay Rate: $8.54

 

Major Function: Performs a variety of entry level routine kitchen tasks essential to the efficient operation of serving meals in a school cafeteria. Must be willing to cashier and know how to handle money. Responsible for assisting in the preparation, serving, and storage of food; cleaning and maintaining food service areas, and operation of mechanical equipment. Work is performed under direct supervision.

Minimum Qualifications: Completion of the 8th grade, with functional skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. After hire, must successfully pass the Pinellas County School Board Safety and Sanitation (10) hour course. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

After Completing the On-Line Application: Applicants are requested to contact the Food Service office. Applicants have to pay a $63.25 fee for fingerprinting and must successfully pass local, state and FBI background checks.

Registered Nurses

Minimum qualifications:  High school or GED and current license as RN in Florida plus three years pediatric experience or other related nursing experience. Must be current in or complete CPR training within first month of employment.

POSITION:  UPHOLSTERER/GLAZIER-JOURNEYMAN

 

LOCATION:  VEHICLE MAINTENANCE

                        WALTER POWNALL SERVICE CENTER

 

12 mos., 8 hrs., SEIU pay grade D11, salary:  $16.64 hourly, $32,881 annually

 

MAJOR FUNCTION:

Performs skilled manual work at a journeyman level in repairing and replacing upholstery and glass in School Board vehicles.  Work is performed independently under general direction and reviewed through results obtained.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Repairs and replaces vehicle upholstery; removes old upholstery; measures and cuts new padding and covering materials; hand sews small patches; makes patterns and sews covering material on sewing machine.

·         Replaces cushions, crash pads, back covers, and back boards using staple guns and power tools, drills and pneumatic implements.

·         Rebuilds springs and padding.

·         Removes writing and chewing gum from seats.

·         Replaces cracked or broken windows and mirrors on school buses and other vehicles.

·         May be required to use spray paint, cut and grind glass, use gas and/or arc welding equipment.

·         Creates work orders, schedules work, keeps daily logs of work; cares for tools and materials; observes work-related safety precautions.

·         Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduate or GED, plus four years verifiable related experience performing most of the duties and responsibilities above.  The successful completion of up to two years of verifiable formal training in the trade (vocational, military, or indentured apprentice school) may be substituted for a like amount of the experience requirement.
