FOCUS


The main focus of this office is to collaborate with district and school-based personnel in the development of training and to provide resources that will support and enhance student achievement. This will be accomplished in two primary ways:
  • Providing curriculum training and resources for content area teachers, especially in the area of technology integration.
  • Providing curriculum training and resources for all curriculum contacts at district and school levels.

Pencils
Professional Development
  • Collaborate with supervisors and their teachers to develop curriculum and technology integration training initiatives (e.g. CTIP)
    • Help design and/or deliver training aligned with curriculum needs
    • Support textbook software
    • Provide training for supervisors

  • Provide distance learning opportunities

    • Atomic Learning
    • Curriculum/Technology Integration Project (CTIP)
    • Support ESOL online training
    • Assist in the roll-out of focused teacher training in specific content areas (CTIP model)

    • Collaborate with supervisors to develop the application process
    • Collaborate with supervisors on the participant selection
    • Provide summer training for participants
    • Design monthly online training
    • Provide lesson plan support

  • Atomic Learning
    • Manage accounts
    • Provide support to users
    • Provide usage data to district

  • How To Master online training
    • Manage accounts
    • Provide support to users
    • Manage components and award component points

Referendum
  • Collaborate with district, school, and community committee members to design projects and support with referendum dollars
  • Collaborate with schools on project planning
  • Provide training and support
  • Collect data for evaluation

Components
  • Review and revise all technology components to ensure alignment with curriculum objectives
  • Approve the opening of components authored by the Office of Curriculum & Applications
  • Offer tech coordinator components as a train-the-trainer model
  • Award component points

DOE Initiatives
  • Collaborate with DOE , the district, and schools on state initiatives (e.g. STAR Survey, STAR Inventory, etc)
  • Understand and inform of District and State mandates and initiatives as they pertain to technology training (i.e. NCLB, STAR)
  • Provide property records data to schools for completing the survey
  • Provide training and support for schools on completing the survey
  • Review all school surveys

EETT Grants
  • Develop and manage curriculum and technology integration grants and funding (e.g. EETT, PSTF, etc.)
  • Provide ongoing support for grant projects
  • Collaborate with private schools on projects and budgets
  • Provide curriculum training on grant projects
  • Coordinate grant purchases

Novus
  • Set up teacher accounts
  • Provide training for supervisors and teachers on creating Novus websites
  • Provide email and phone support for teacher and school websites
  • Create and maintain office website

Curriculum Collaboration and Support
  • Assist in the evaluation of curriculum technologies
  • Collaborate with supervisors and schools on recommendations and implementation of curriculum-based software
  • Support principal walkthrough software
  • CD-ROM duplication for training handouts
