The teacher obtains pre-approval from the principal
to participate in an activity that requires a substitute teacher.
The principal or district-level supervisor obtains approval
for the substitute teacher
TDE (Temporary Duty Elsewhere). If TDE is not approved, a written request may be submitted to
Prof. Dev. for reconsideration. If approved, continue to the next step.
If not, the process ends.
The principal or designee notifies the teacher to contact
the sub-finder system to request a substitute.
1) The teacher or district level supervisor completes
the
TDE
form (Form 3-650) with proper coding, signs it and obtains the principal's
approval.
2) The principal forwards it to the project manager for
approval.
3) The project manager approves, then obtains approval
of the immediate supervisor, if needed, and forwards it to the special
projects office.
The special projects staff approves and returns the form
to the school or the project manager.
