Get Your Business Involved!

The Corporate/Community
Volunteer Program (CCVP)
is a partnership program involving employees and members of area companies and organizations as school volunteers. Participants are encouraged by their organization/company to become tutors or mentors for struggling students; in many cases, businesses allow flexible schedules to accommodate volunteer time during the day. Longstanding CCVP participants include Honeywell, City of Clearwater and many other city governments throughout Pinellas County.

Business Partners 2008-2009
School Partner relationships are ongoing throughout the year and typically involve the entire school. Regular communication, mutual objectives and specific outcomes are part of these relationships. Recommitment is usually done informally each year. Partnerships match community resources to identified needs of the school district or individual schools. Schools, in turn, provide resources to meet identified needs of a particular partner such as a business or community group. Partners often contribute more than money to the program. They donate time and expertise, send tutors and mentors to volunteer in the classroom, speak to classes about their business or organization and invite students on field trips.
