Principal's Message

  • October 25, 2020

Dear Azalea Middle Black Knight Families,

Tomorrow, Monday, October 26th, 2020 is NOT a school day for our scholars.  Please keep them home.

Please support the Referendum. It funds strengthening reading, music and art programs; provide current technology and textbooks; and help recruit and retain quality teachers. Pinellas County voters have renewed the Referendum every four years, by large margins, since the half-mill property tax was approved in 2004. Every penny collected through the Referendum is locally controlled and supports Pinellas County teachers and scholars.

    Request to Change Learning Option:

For those families who  received a call from the school counselor to inform you that your request has been fulfilled and a new schedule is available, please remember to arrive on campus with required paperwork such a 7th grade shot record, change of address verification as well as previously assigned laptop, on the date you were told to arrive on campus.

A phone call was sent, Friday October 23rd,  to families where additional time is needed to complete a new schedule due to conflicts in scheduling. A counselor will call when the schedule has been changed and the student can return.

Families who requested to change from face to face to MyPCSOnline will also be contacted to inform them of a schedule change.

We appreciate your continued support and patience as we work through this process.

    New laptops:

Our shipment of new laptops arrived on Friday and we are working swiftly to update these new devices for distribution.  We are still collecting laptops, from Face to Face students.  A student must return the previously assigned laptop, even if it was assigned from another school, before they can receive a new one. If there is any damage, a form must be completed prior to the assignment of a new laptop. Face to Face students, once they’ve returned the older laptop, will receive paperwork to be assigned a new laptop. This paperwork must be completed in it’s entirety by a parent/guardian and returned to the school before a new laptop is assigned. Each new laptop including a charger, will be assigned in a bookbag with the device number clearly written on the outside of the bag. It is your child’s responsibility to carry the bag to and from school daily as it will be utilized in most classes. Laptops will be stored in classes before lunch and during PE.
