Scholarships

Preparing students and supporting educators

We believe every public school student should graduate with clear aspirations for their future—and the full capacity to pursue them. In support of these initiatives, the Pinellas Education Foundation is proud to offer numerous scholarships and grants based on academic achievement, talent and financial need.

Senior Scholarships

Each year, the Foundation awards approximately $700,000 in scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000 to high school graduating seniors in the Pinellas County Public School system. Students only need to fill out one application to match their needs and future interests with over 120 scholarship opportunities.

The Senior Scholarship application period remains opens September 30 through January 31 annually.

If you would like to open or contribute to a scholarship fund, please contact Alex Buell at [email protected]or 727-588-4816, ext. 2114.

Jump Start Scholarships

The Pinellas Education Foundation offers Jump Start Scholarships for graduating seniors who demonstrate financial need and meet the eligibility requirements. Recipients receive a 1-Year Florida Prepaid College Plan valued at over $3,100 to attend a Florida public college, university, or technical college. Jump Start Scholarships are awarded through our Senior Scholarship application to students who meet eligibility requirements.

Take Stock in Children Scholarships

This statewide scholarship program helps low-income youth—many from minority families—escape the cycle of poverty through education. Students are paired with mentors who provide inspiration and guidance. These services begin in middle school, continue through high school, and include students’ transition into college and career.  Families can apply for the Take Stock in Children program during the fall semester.

Walker’s Rising Stars Scholarship Program

Walker’s Rising Stars Scholarship Competition is a year-long initiative that helps students hone their audition, portfolio, and performance skills. Participants in Walker’s Rising Stars compete for college scholarships in six categories: Culinary Arts, Dance, Instrumental, Theater, Visual Arts, and Vocal Performance.

Bright Futures Scholarships

Together with the Florida Department of Education (FDOE), the Florida Lottery has helped over 950,000 scholars and counting receive a postsecondary education through the Bright Futures Scholarship program.

Community Leaders Success Stories

"I love kids; they're the future. I love the arts, and I owe everything I have to education. This program makes a material difference in these students' lives, and that makes me happy."
