Pinellas County Schools Announces Public Board Meeting
To Which All Persons are Invited
DATE AND TIME: Tuesday, March 9. 2021 - 9:30 a.m.
PURPOSE: School Board Workshop/ To Discuss Topics of Interest
PLACE: Conference Hall / Administration Building

NOTE: Effective August 5, 2020, School Board Meetings and Workshops will be held in-person. Due to safety concerns, those appearing in-person must satisfactorily complete a wellness self-screening prior to entry into the building and, while in the building, wear a face covering at all times and adhere to CDC social distancing guidelines; violations of these rules may result in denial of entry and/or removal. Due to safety concerns and given the layout of the room hosting this meeting, members of the public will not attend physically in the room but will attend in a separate room where they can view the meeting on a monitor.
Pursuant to the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, any person requiring special accommodations to participate in these meetings is asked to advise the agency at least 48 hours before the meeting by contacting the communication disorders department at (727) 588-6039. For meetings which provide for public comments, individuals will move to the meeting room to deliver their comments. Individuals may always send comments to School Board Members at Email the School Board.
Pinellas County School Board regular meetings are generally held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Exceptions usually occur in the months of March, July, August, November and December when the meeting schedule is modified to accommodate holidays and school breaks.
Generally, the FIRST regular meeting of each month will begin at 10 a.m.; and, the SECOND regular meeting of the month will begin at 5 p.m. View a schedule of the regular meetings and workshop meetings. All regular meetings are held in the conference hall of the Administration Building at 301 4th Street SW in Largo, FL.
The public is encouraged to attend; and, should they wish to address the School Board Members regarding a matter at a regular meeting, the individual should complete one of the request forms located in the lobby prior to the meeting.
Separately, the School Board also conducts workshop meetings to discuss various business items; no action occurs at workshop meetings. The board workshops are currently conducted in the conference hall of the Administration Building. Please note that the April 20, 2021, workshop will be held at Northeast High School, 5500 16th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33703.
Minutes are published on BoardDocs within approximately one week following each board meeting or workshop.

Public Comments on Agenda Items
At this time, a member of the public is allowed a total not to exceed three (3) minutes to speak to any and all "action items" on the agenda, except agenda items regarding employee discipline, student discipline, and items of a ministerial nature, such as approval of minutes or proclamations. He/she is allocated only one opportunity to speak during this time. Speakers can sign up at any time up until the Chairperson calls for speakers, or until the last speaker has concluded, whichever is later.
Public Hearings (usually second readings of policies)
At this time, a member of the public is allowed to speak for three (3) minutes to any and all of the public hearings – to each of them individually. Example – if there are two policy second readings, the same person can sign up to speak twice – three minutes to each of the two second readings and will speak at the time the item is presented. Most public hearings at Board Meetings are second readings of policy, but we also have public hearings on the budget or as required by law or policy (e.g., Policy 1060 regarding selection of a Superintendent). Speakers can sign up at any time up until the Chairperson calls for speakers, or until the last speaker has concluded, whichever is later.

He/she is allocated only one opportunity to speak during this time, which occurs after the adjournment of the regular meeting. Speakers can sign up at any time up until the Chairperson calls for speakers, or until the last speaker has concluded, whichever is later.
