Career Academies

What is a Career Academy?

Career Academies are four year programs designed to blend a student's required academic courses with the career technical program of the academy.

Procedures for District Application Programs Handbook

Career Academy programs prepare students for:

  • National/industry certifications
  • Pinellas Technical College (PTC), a two-year college, or university.
  • Entry into their chosen career.
  • Bright Futures/Gold Seal scholarships.

There is no minimum GPA required for admission to a Career Academy; however, a student's discipline record must not reflect any serious misconduct. Students enrolled in an academy must maintain a 2.0 GPA to remain in the academy. For more information, please contact Ron Schnell, CTAE Coordinator at: (727) 588-6207 or email: SCHNELLR@pcsb.org
