This is Melissa Athanson, principal of Palm Harbor Middle.

Parents I want to thank you for another amazing year. Our students this year have been high achievers, dedicated and eager to learn. Thank you for sharing your wonderful students with us. This will be the last message for the school year and it includes a lot of information regarding events of the next week.

Final exams begin on Wednesday and will continue through Tuesday May 28th. If for some reason your student will need to be absent on any of these days please contact the grade level counselor to schedule early exams as they are 10% of their overall grade. We still have students taking their EOC’s and will continue with FSA make up exams throughout this week.

There will be an 8th grade awards assembly on Thursday to acknowledge students who received recognition either from their teachers or for academic excellence. Students were given invitations last Monday. This event will take place in the gymnasium and begins at 6:30.

Yearbooks will be distributed on Thursday during lunches. Locker clean out will be Thursday and Friday of this week. Students may not bring backpacks to school after this occurs.

The last day for students will be May 29th and this is an early release day. Students will be released at 2:10 pm. We will not have school on Monday May 27th in recognition of Memorial Day.

We are a summer bridge site and encourage all students to attend and continue the enrichment throughout the summer. Students who are in need of making up a course will receive notification during the first week of June through phone call and mail.

All 6th grade parents please make sure that you get the required immunizations for your students prior to 7th grade. Students will not be permitted to attend school in the fall without these forms being on file. You may drop off these forms in the office anytime Monday through Thursday from 8:00-12:30pm throughout the summer.

Thank you as always for your support and have a wonderful and relaxing summer.
