Dear Parents, Students and Education Partners,
As Principal of the Jonathan C. Gibbs High School, it is truly a privilege to be part of the rich traditions of excellence that exist at Gibbs High School in academics and our magnet programs. I encourage all of our students to become involved with school activities, make a commitment to academic excellence, and be a contributor to the special spirit that exists on our beautiful campus.
We believe all students can achieve and succeed! We, as a professional staff, are here to make it happen. Academic achievement, student success, and campus safety are our highest priorities for Gibbs High School. The staff is committed to setting high standards and maintaining the best educational environment for all students. As a staff, we are driven by Respect, Excellence and Pride. We expect all of our students to make a personal commitment to achieve, be involved in student activities, look for the good in all people, and make good decisions.
At Gibbs High School, our staff sets high academic standards for our students. Our staff works diligently to ensure that each child is working to his or her maximum ability. Gibbs High School, the Pinellas County School District and our educational partners have a common goal to do what is best for the students.
On behalf of our entire staff, I would like to welcome you to explore the Gibbs High School’s website. This website has been prepared in the hope that it will become a valuable resource for you and provide you with school news and information. This website has been developed to enable everyone to become familiar with our school, its policies, and other procedures. These policies and procedures are written to create an environment conducive to learning and a school where all feel welcomed, safe and secure. The expectations for behavior written in our Code of Student Conduct are based on the essential value of respecting the rights and dignity of each other. Our school can continue to be an outstanding community when all adults treat all students with respect, when all students treat all adults with respect and when all students treat each other with respectful and responsible behavior. When all of us work together with each individual doing his or her part, we can truly make a difference. I will always encourage you to accept the challenge to be a model of respectful behavior.
The adults who work here will offer you help along the journey to success. Please ask for our assistance. We want to be a part of your success. Along with the faculty and staff, I wish you an exciting and successful year. JAM
EVERY student, EVERY day, EVERY hour, EVERY minute, EVERY second ….COUNTS!
