Good Afternoon Bay Vista Families,

This is Principal Hall calling with announcements and updates for the week of April 19, 2020.

Pursuant to the governor’s announcement this weekend, online learning will continue through the end of the school year.  In the coming weeks, I will announce how we will close out our school year and I will provide answers to many of the questions you must have.  This is new territory for us all and as I begin to plan out these next weeks, I will share my plans with you once fully developed.

This week we want to engage our Jaguars in a Virtual Spirit Week! Just because we are not in our school building does not mean we can’t show our school spirit and pride. I encourage all students to participate and share a picture on their class page each day!  This is a great way for our Jaguars to connect with their classmates and strengthen their classroom communities!

Monday:  Animal Day - Wear something with an animal or animal print on it or work with your favorite stuffed animal or pet.
Tuesday: Wacky Tacky Day - Put together your craziest outfit!
Wednesday: Sunny Earth Day - Wear your brightest colors and go play outside today!!
Thursday: Blue Day - We're blue we're not with you today! Wear something blue today!
Friday: Bay Vista Pride Day - Wear your favorite Bay Vista Sway!

On another note, I want to let you know that our students can access eBooks through Clever. There is Mackinvia for nonfiction reading along with popular and current ebooks available through Destiny and Sora. Step-by-step tutorials are provided on our website on the home page. We want students to continue their love of reading, until we can get books back in their hands!  These ebooks are wonderful, easy, and free resources, so take advantage.

I am looking forward to seeing your fun pictures of our Virtual Spirit Week!  This Wednesday, we will be sharing a special Earth Day video featuring your favorite Bay Vista Staff members. If you missed our video last week for Crazy Hat Day, here is the link again!
