The 5th grade “clap out” is a special event we conduct each year to send off our 5th graders. This year, we are going to have a “Honk out” in place of the “clap out”.
Anyone who has expereinced our “clap out” can tell you that it is a very special event. A major contributing factor is the sheer volume of people (the entire school) cheering for our 5th graders. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we obviously cannot have the entire school body present. This is why your presence/participation is so important.
Please join me next Friday (last day of school😊) May 29th from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm to send off our 5th graders with a glorious symphony of car horns!
Faculty and Staff will park in the north lot (bike rack). Students will enter through the car circle, snake around to the building 6 “cut through” to the bus circle. There will be a DJ playing music and announcing each student as they drive by. The students will then pass the north lot and we will commence the honking.
The “clap out” has always been reserved for 5th grade students only. We will continue this tradition with the “honk out” as well. This event required a lot of boring logistics, however, please note this activity has been vetted through the appropriate law enforcement channels and it is absolutely essential that we remain in our vehicles at all times (moving vehicles and pedestrians do not mix well, plus, COVID-19 district event guidelines).
