    Please review student grades with your child and do not hesitate to reach out to the teacher or counselor if you have any additional questions or concerns.

    • Campus Beautification: We received our new banners inside the courtyard, and demo on the front entry sign has begun. They are in the process of building a new walkway and sign! Pictures will follow.

    Update 10-26:

    Good morning, Spartan Families,

    I want to thank everyone for an outstanding first quarter.  I am beyond impressed with our students and the effort they put in the past nine weeks.  Report cards get distributed Tuesday, November 3rd

    Please note we will not have Target time Wednesday, October 28th, as our 8th grade students are taking the PSAT all morning. Wednesday’s Bell Schedule.

    Red Ribbon Week: We are “Saying No to Drugs” as a school and celebrating our red ribbon/spirit week.  Please review the attached flyer for dress up days. As a reminder, students must still be in dress code and no face paint or masks that cover the entire face are allowed.

                  Monday – No School for Students

                  Tuesday -  Wear Red

                  Wednesday – “Stomp out Drugs” – Wear mismatched socks/shoes/clothing

                  Thursday – Be Brave and dress like a superhero. 

                  Friday – School Spirit Day – Dress in TSMS School colors

    PSAT Testing: All 8th grade students are taking the PSAT Wednesday, October 28th.  Face-to-face students will start testing at 9:40. Online students should arrive at 10:00 a.m. for testing. 

    Reminders: Safety is our top priority.  For those students joining us on campus for the first time:

    • Drop off is at 9:20 a.m. Students may not get out of the car prior to this time.
    • A mask must be worn during the day. Students may take their masks off once seated in the café during lunch.
    • Students should stand on the painted Spartan head/word “Spartans” out front while waiting to enter the building. This will help ensure social distancing is being followed.
    • Students must follow the TSMS Approved dress code.
    • Students must also follow the cell phone policy as identified in the PCSB Student Code of Conduct.

    Our current students have done an incredible job following our guidelines and expectations.  I am confident our new students will do the same!

    End of Quarter:  The end of the first quarter is Friday, October 23rdPlease make sure students work hard to finish the quarter strong. There is no school for students Monday, October 26th, as this is a teacher planning day.

    TIP Testing Registration Due 10/22: Thank you to those families who already submitted the registration and payment for the December 5th SAT opportunity for our 7th grade students.  Payments can also be made online using the following link: https://pcsb.revtrak.net/Middle-Schools/tarpon-springs-middle/#/v/tsms-tip-sat-registration

     October PTSA:  The October PTSA meeting is Tuesday, October 20th at 5:00 p.m. via Zoom.  Please email Ms. Dove (doved@pcsb.org) if you are interested in attending the meeting so she can send you the secure link.

     October SAC: The October SAC meeting is Tuesday, October 20th at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom. Please reply to this email if you are interested in attending and I will send you the secure link in the morning.

     Learning Options Update:  Families who submitted a request to change learning options will receive a call regarding your request by the end of the week.  We are accommodating requests as quickly as possible while also maintaining a safe learning environment.

    Good afternoon Spartan Families, 

    Thank you for working with our teachers and staff to support our students.  It is our vision 100% of our students make learning gains every single day.  This is not possible without your continuous support, so THANK YOU!

    Important Reminders and Updates:

    PTSA Membership and Donation Drive: Attention ALL families! We need YOUR help to raise money for our school.  PTSA is conducting an October membership drive and Donation drive.  Our goal is to raise 10,000 for our teachers, students, and school.  Please click on the following links to view the information.  We are also sending a paper copy home to all students.  Memberships and donations may be turned into the front office or made through member hub.

    PCS TIP Testing:  Congratulations to our 7th grade students invited to participate in the PCS Talent Identification Program.  Thank to our 7th grade families who already returned the registration for their student to take the December 5th SAT.  For those students/families invited to be a part of this opportunity, please remember to pick up a registration packet from the front office.  Packets are due October 22nd, and may be turned in to the front office or Ms. Sampson.

    Update 9-20

    Good evening, Spartan Families,

     

    Thank you for a wonderful week.  As a reminder, we will continue to follow the Alternative A schedule. 

    PTSA: Our first PTSA meeting will be held virtually Tuesday, September 22nd at 5:00 p.m.  Thank you to our families who expressed interest in attending.  Ms. Dove will send the meeting link Monday.

    SAC: Our first SAC meeting is also virtual, and will be held Tuesday, September 22nd at 6:00 p.m.  I will send the meeting link Monday to those families who reached out.

    Back to School Night/Open House – Wednesday, September 23rd. This event will be virtual.  Ms. Nash will be communicating specific information Monday in a call out and email.  Please know you will need your student’s R2.D2/log in information to connect to the back to school classroom meetings.

    MyPCS families: Please understand for online safety and security purposes, guests will not be permitted into the TEAMS meetings during class time.  Students must log in as themselves.

    We accommodated several learning option change requests.  We will continue to make changes and reach out to families as soon as space becomes available.

    Update 9-13

     

    Good afternoon, Spartan Families,

     

    Thank you for another great week.  As a reminder, we will continue to follow the Alternative A schedule.  I was so proud of our students reading and working hard during Target Time, before school, and even during lunch! Thank you for supporting the growth of our students at school and at home.

    Progress Reports – September 17th: Progress reports will be emailed to students and parents through FOCUS.  Please make sure you review student grades and email the teachers if you have concerns.

    Course Balancing: Classes will be balanced until the end of the week.  Please know we will continue to review option change requests as we balance classes.  We are working hard to accommodate requests as quickly as possible.

    PTSA: Our first PTSA meeting will be held virtually Tuesday, September 22nd at 5:00 p.m.  Please email Diane Dove at doved@pcsb.org if you wish to attend.  We look forward to seeing all families online!
