    Time: First Tuesday and second Friday of each month at 2:00 pm


    What is the National Honor Society?

    The Margaret Mead Chapter of the National Honor Society’s goal is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students at Countryside High School.



    Students interested in joining the CHS National Honor Society must:

    • Maintain a minimum 3.0 unweighted and 3.5 weighted GPA throughout their high school career. 
    • Junior or Senior status. 
    • No discipline records. 
    • Complete the application in which the student must list all CHS leadership and CHS service in addition to writing an essay.
    • The application will be reviewed, and the candidate will be evaluated by faculty and staff at Countryside High School as part of the membership selection process.


    Member Responsibilities:

    • Must participate in 10 hours of service per semester through NHS events.
    • Must attend one mandatory monthly meeting.
    • Must maintain a 3.0 unweighted GPA & a 3.5 weighted GPA.
    • Must maintain exemplary discipline records.


    NHS Candidates:

    All prospective National Honor Society candidates will be notified at school via invitation that they are eligible to apply for the NHS membership.  If a candidate wishes to be considered for induction into the Countryside High School’s NHS, please complete the online application that will be sent to the candidates’ school email address. The meeting information will be provided on the invitation.


    Please note that if the candidate submits an incomplete application or misses the application deadline, the candidate will not be considered.
