Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK)

    Voluntary Pre-K (VPK) is a state constitutional amendment passed by voters in November 2002 which requires a voluntary pre-kindergarten program for all four-year-old children by fall 2005. The program is designed to prepare four-year-old children for kindergarten and build the foundations for their educational success. This program is voluntary for children and providers.

    Pinellas County Schools participates in the state Voluntary Pre-K program by offering a program throughout the school year and summer. The school year program is limited in enrollment spaces.  You child must be 4 on or before September 1 of the current school year to qualify for VPK.

    Our program at Garrison-Jones is a blended (half Special Needs Children and half general children).  This program offers a full day ($65.00/week) with a $91.00 deposit due at time of registration or the 1/2 day program (free).  Registration for the 1/2 day program begins August 3, 2016.  Please feel free to contact our office at 727-469-5716 for space availabilty and more information. 

    What you will need to register:  birth certificate, immunizations (on Florida form), physical (no older than 1 year), 2 proofs of address (electric, cable, water, etc.), and the voucher from the Early Coalition Center.  To obtain the voucher, please click here
