• Beyond the Classroom

    Beyond the Classroom provides a variety of online educational activities for students. Beyond the Classroom and a related initiative Connect for Success — A Title I Digital Enterprise support learning outside of the classroom. Students are encouraged to continue these activities before or after the school day from home.

    • Learn to type
      Typingweb is a free online typing tutor & keyboarding program for all skill levels. This program includes typing games, typing tests and a certificate for completion. All students should spend at least 15 minutes each day practicing their keyboarding skills.

    • Istation Istation is an online program that strengthens reading skills knowledge through engaging, interactive content in a game-like format. To extend your learning beyond the school day students can access Istation from home. The expectation for students in grades K-2 is to spend a minimum of 30 minutes per week and for students in grades 3-5 a minimum of 60 minutes per week.

    • Kid with backpack. My Virtual Backpack is a collection of reading resources for all students in grades K - 12. Students can use these resources to extend their reading Beyond The Classroom. Students will choose from the MackinVia website to participate in reading and will be able to earn incentives and check out ebooks online.

    • Journey North Seasonal change is all around us. Children see it in the length of a day, in the appearance of a flower, in the flight of a butterfly. Journey North is a free internet-based program that explores the interrelated aspects of seasonal change.

    • Certificate of completion. Learn American English Online! is a free website for students and schools across the U.S. and around the world. There are seven levels of instruction: blue, red, yellow, green, purple, orange and violet.
