I am excited to share with you details about Pinellas County Schools best kept secret—Pinellas Virtual School. We are delighted to be aligned with Pinellas County Schools and offer its students grades K-12 full-time and part-time classes online, free of charge. Our school is ideal for students who are motivated learners, as well as students with busy lifestyles. As a parent of a high school student, did you know that PVS can assist your child in meeting his or her online learning graduation requirement?
Under Florida’s Digital Learning Act, students are required to complete an online course as part of the state’s 24-credit minimum needed to graduate. Enrollment into PVS is one-way students in Pinellas County can meet the state’s online credit requirement.
In addition to fulfilling the online course requirement, the benefits of PVS are tremendous:
- We offer a wide variety of courses:
- Honors classes
- Popular electives: Driver’s Education, Health Opportunities through Physical Education (HOPE), Music of the World 1, ACT/SAT prep and more.
- Students and parents have the flexibility to access courses online 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Parents can access our Portal feature and communicate with virtual teachers by email, phone or in person.
