At Fuguitt, we have an opportunity for fourth- and fifth-graders to join chorus as an additional music class during the school week. Though singing is a part of each student’s general music curriculum, being a chorister is a fantastic way to develop leadership and critical thinking skills, learn a variety of beautiful and exciting pieces of choral repertoire, bond with like-minded Fuguitt musicians, and learn how to properly care for their voice. Ms. Klima has directed and sung for many prestigious choirs around Florida and seeks to give our students an excellent choral experience that will help them develop a lifelong appreciation of singing.
There is no cost associated with chorus. Fuguitt choristers have the privilege of performing for many school and community events throughout the school year, including seasonal concerts, appearances on Fuguitt’s Gator Gab morning news show, school assemblies, and singing field trips. These events will be announced later.“I don’t sing because I’m happy; I’m happy because I sing!” – William James
