Pinellas Park Elementary

Home of the Bears

Hello, Parents this is Principal Freeman.

Thank you for your patience as we complete our first10 days of school. I want to thank the parents who are following our expectations for student pick up in the afternoon.

Remember to utilize the car line by staying in your car and pulling up to the furthest available numbered sign.  Also it is expected that you have the Domino’s name plate with you whether you are in the car OR coming to the gate.  This process was implemented based on your feedback regarding safety concerns.  Every family who drives or walks was provided two “official” name plates.  Please utilize these. Not having the name plate may result in you having to report to the front office and showing your ID. Again, showing the student name plate will ensure a more efficient and safe dismissal. Also, did you know your child can earn free pizza during report card time by showing the name plate at our local Domino’s pizza?!

A reminder to use the cross walk when leaving the sidewalk area.  You should not be walking in between the cars parked in the car line.

School Spirit T-shirt sale began on Monday.  Order forms (hot pink) will be in your child’s backpack. Children’s shirts are $8 and Adult shirts are $10.  Shirts are ash gray with our Bear logo and the saying, “Fear the Bear”. Cash and check made to PPE PTA are acceptable forms of payment. Don’t forget to join PTA for $5.

Our teachers have voted and would like the students to participate in “Promote Higher Education” Day! Every Thursday students will be encouraged to wear their favorite college/university T-shirt along with their dress code shorts/pants/bottoms.  Teachers will be wearing college gear too.  The idea is to encourage ALL of our students to be college bound!

In closing, please remember we are working with the State to monitor instruction at Pinellas Park Elementary. The first indicator monitored is student attendance. That includes coming in late and being picked up early.  All students are expected to be seated and ready to learn by 8:30 AM and to stay in classroom instructional setting until 3:05 PM.  This is called bell to bell instruction and is a way of work at Pinellas Park Elementary where we come to learn and we love learning! Go Bears!
