• Hello, PPE Family.

In an effort to keep everyone in the know and on the same page, I am sharing the parent phone message schedule for Saturday evening. Thank you.

Hello, Pinellas Park Elementary Parents. This is Principal Freeman.  Although we had a short week of school we packed the days full of learning.  Every classroom has a scale which helps children know how they are achieving and where they are in mastering the learning standard. Be sure to ask your children what they learned, and your children will be able to tell you. This is one simple way to be engaged. If your children don’t know, it is time for you to schedule a parent/teacher conference.

Three important items were sent home this week: our September/October newsletter sharing important news and upcoming events, mid-term progress report today (for students with grades of a D, F, N or U), and picture order forms.  Checking your child’s backpack & agenda nightly is another simple way to be engaged in your child’s schooling.

Also, no news on hurricane make-up days. The District has requested a waiver from the Sate regarding make up days. As I have information I will share with you.

    Upcoming events include:

Monday, Sept. 12:  Grandparent’s Day, grandparents are invited to have lunch with grandchildren.  You may bring a lunch or purchase one for $3.50.  Grandparents are important in education and we welcome you on this special day and every day.

Tuesday, Sept. 13: Fall individual picture day.  Students do not need to be in uniform for pictures and are encouraged to wear a favorite outfit and a BIG smile!

Monday, Sept. 19: Chick-Fil-A spirit night! Proceeds benefit our school and the class with highest participation wins a Chick-Fil-A party.

Other events coming in late September include Dad Take Your Kids to School Day Sept. 28, and our Attendance Awareness Rally sponsored by JWB and our Superintendent of School, Dr. Michael Grego!

We will continue to plan events and share simple ideas on how you can show your child that school is important.

I encourage you to make every effort to be engaged in your child’s education at Pinellas Park Elementary, where we come to learn, and we love learning.  Go Bears!
