Summer Bridge @ Oldsmar Elementary School!
Summer Bridge is an extended learning opportunity designed for all students, but is especially beneficial for students who have not yet reached a level of proficiency in reading, math or science. The purpose of this exciting program is to provide students with continuous learning through the summer, to ensure maximum success for the next school year.
Summer Bridge for our kindergarten through fourth grade students will be offered at Oldsmar Elementary School this year. (Current fifth grade students will be assigned to Summer Bridge schools based on their assigned middle schools.) Oldsmar Elementary School is not too far away from our school and many of our high performing teachers will be teaching at Oldsmar Elementary for Summer Bridge this year!
The program will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Mondays-Thursdays, from June 5 to July 19, 2018. Please note: there will be no classes during the week of the 4th of July (7/2- 7/5). The 6-week program will include acceleration and enhancement of skills in reading, mathematics and science and individualized instruction in the three core subjects, using a blended model of the arts, technology, small group instruction, hands-on labs and project-based learning. The exciting curriculum is built upon the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) concept. Each grade level will attend a field trip, at no cost, to provide a shared experience which will be the springboard for learning this summer.
