High School Registration for Countryside, Clearwater and Seminole. Both will be having an informational night on March 9th. Please see attached flyers for details.

Tryouts will be March 8th-11th and students must have all paperwork completed in order to tryout (Attached). If students already turned in paperwork for volleyball or basketball, all they need to turn in is the teacher progress form.

Our 2020-2021 Soar-A-Thon fundraiser is a donation based, 100% volunteer managed fundraiser, and it is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Thanks to the tireless efforts of volunteers, all proceeds directly benefit our school! Donations can be accepted via cash, check or online donations. Funds raised will be used to for a Mr. Sun renovation, outdoor classroom and continue to support our programs such as PBIS and classroom enhancements.

• * 2 Proofs of Residency (Utility bill for power, water, cable, sewer, land-based phone (not cellular), rental agreement or lease, closing document, or a Pinellas County Tax statement with homestead exemption. The items must be recent and contain the name of the parent/guardian and service address on them.
• Proof of Age (Birth Certificate, Passport)
• Florida Immunization Form (Immunizations MUST be on State of Florida Form #680)
• Documentation of Health Physical
• Student records from previous school (including final grades from 6th and/or 7th grade)

Virtual Choice Fairs
PCS is excited to provide families with virtual opportunities to introduce the 80 different magnet, fundamental and career academy District Application Programs. Join us at one of our Virtual Choice Fairs to familiarize yourself our District Application Program (DAP) offerings.
High School DAP Programs
• Monday, Nov. 2: 6:30 to 7:45 p.m.
• Sessions with Schools: 6:42- 6:57p.m., 7:00 - 7:15 p.m., and 7:18 - 7:33 p.m.

The Safety Harbor Middle School chapter of NJHS considers scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship when choosing new members. Students selected to join the National Junior Honor Society at SHMS exhibit exemplary behavior and academic excellence. NJHS members complete service projects both as individuals and with their chapter, building character, citizenship, leadership, community involvement, and friendships along the way.
National Junior Honor Society applications are available on the school website under the academics tab and accepted October 20th – November 4th. Students in 8th grade who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above are eligible to apply. Students that are not sure if they are eligible can find out by checking with Ms. Dogu in room 3-216, or simply apply and we will check your GPA for you. Applications are due to Ms.Dogu in room 3-216 or via email (dogua@pcsb.org) by November 4th, 4:15 pm.

The Safety Harbor Extended Learning Program includes standards based instruction sessions before and after school and is available free of charge to our students. In addition, there is ample time to ask questions and receive assistance with current school work. ELP will be available to virtual students via the same forum they attend classes now.
Car Riders / Walkers / Bike Riders
MUST be dropped off and picked up at designated entrances (See Map).
6th Graders will use the front entrance for drop off and pick up. 7th and 8th graders will use the entrance next to the teacher parking lot.
Students are to stand on markings on sidewalks while waiting to enter the school/be picked up. Thank you so much!
BUS INFORMATION
Pinellas County Schools Transportation Department is implementing a new system to inform you when your child’s bus is going to be delayed or schedule changes. If your student rides the bus this is important to read. SHMS is part of a pilot effort to use a system called Bus Bulletin.
The Bus Bulletin notification system will notify parents and students when there are bus delays and schedule changes. If you would like to receive instant notifications when delays or incidents affect your student’s bus, please register with Bus Bulletin.
• There is no cost to you for this service.
• Registration is simple and fast.
• You can choose to receive either text messages, phone calls, and e-mails or these options.
• All contact information is stored securely and will not be shared or sold. Your privacy is protected.
• Please note: this system is not related to Pinellas County Schools new emergency text message communications through SchoolMessenger.
