Teacher of the Year2016-2017
It’s with great pleasure, we introduce Victoria Saenz, Clearwater Adult Education Center Teacher of the Year. Victoria has a genuine caring attitude and commitment to her students’ learning. Evidence of Victoria’s continued commitment to her students includes excellent instructional practices, positive classroom climate, and exceptional leadership skills as the Lead Teacher for the ABE/GED program. As Lead Teacher, Victoria is continuously looking to improve her skills in order to provide learning opportunities that are authentic and engaging. Victoria’s commitment is to all of her students, whether they are transitioning from our ESOL program or enrolling as returning traditional students to complete their GED. Victoria provides learning experiences which help our students experience an exceptional success rate.
Victoria understands that in order for her students to experience academic success and for teachers within the department to see her as a leader, she must continue to improve her own professional practices and reach out to the community for support. In order to achieve these goals, Victoria attends professional development trainings to stay up-to date with teaching trends and she actively seeks volunteer support from families in our program. Her approach has led to her integrating current researched based instructional practices and practical application into her presentations leading to greater student achievement. Victoria is approachable and freely shares this research with others within her department. Congratulations Victoria!!
