Summer Bridge & Credit Recovery
SUMMER BRIDGE CORE ACADEMIC PROGRAMS:
1. Math Blast Bootcamp! - This course is for rising 9th grade students. The course is designed to provide students with an introduction to skills needed to be successful as freshmen in Pre-AP Algebra 1. Students will earn a 1/2 elective credit of Math Foundations. Dates: 6/6-6/30
2. Alg. 1 CR - this is for current 9th and 10th grade students who have failed one or both semesters of Pre-AP Algebra 1. Students will earn 1/2 of an elective credit, plus the class will recover the failed Pre-AP Algebra 1 credit. Dates: 6/6-6/23
3. Alg. 1 EOC Test Prep - This course if for 9th and 10th grade students who failed the spring Algebra 1 EOC. Although test scores will not be revealed until June, it is recommended that all students currently earning a D/F in the class register for this course. Students in Alg. 1 EOC Test Prep will take the Alg. 1 EOC on July 13th and 14th. Students will earn a 1/2 elective credit in Alg. 1 CR. Dates: 6/27-7/14
*Notice this course begins after the Alg. 1 CR class. It is also recommended that students who are currently earning an F in Pre-Algebra 1 register for both Alg. 1 CR and Alg. 1 EOC Test Prep.
4. ACT ELA and Math Test Prep - these courses are for rising 11th and 12th grade students who need a concordant score for graduation (students who have not yet passed the FSA ELA or Alg. 1 EOC). Students may participate only in ELA, Math or both courses. Students who participate in ACT ELA and/or Math Test Prep will receive a waiver to take the Saturday, July 16th test for free. The registration deadline for the July 16th test is June 17th. Dates: 6/27-7/14
SUMMER BRIDGE ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS:
1. AP Bootcamp - this class is for anyone who is taking an Advanced Placement class for the first time or anyone who would like to sharpen their academic skills to better their chances of earning college credit. Dates: 7/5-7
2. Freshmen BCHS Exploration: this class is for all rising freshmen. Students will experience a taste of 2 courses a day over the course of 4 days. Dates: 7/11-15
CREDIT RECOVERY - this program is for students who need to make-up a failed core academic course. Students will use APEX to recover. Dates: May 31st - July 14th
