Seven Gibbs Students' Works Published In Anthology!
Voices of Booker Creek
Gibbs High School is proud to announce that seven students have been published in a new anthology that celebrates the beauty of Booker Creek and South St. Pete. Bryson Maddox, Shadin Haitham, Luke Billsborough, Nolen Liu, Vasili Grandmason, Chloe Moore, and Tara Baldwin are all contributing authors to the book, Voices of Booker Creek. The book includes pieces from Gibbs High School students, USFSP students and professors, local writers, and a preface written by City Council representative Gina Driscoll. This is a proud moment for our students, becoming published authors while still in High School is a feather they can wear proudly in their caps. Students were able to work closely with USFSP professor Dr. Tom Hallock and Gibbs ELA teacher Ariel Ringo, to embrace creative writing and fine-tune their skills as writers. With the publication announcement, there will be a virtual book launch on July 17th. A recording of the virtual book launch can be found on the Voices of Booker Creek YouTube page. On this channel you will also find students reading their individual pieces. Please congratulate these students when you see them!
