PSAT & SAT information

  • All 9th and 10th grade students are encouraged to take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NSQT) on our campus Wednesday, October 12, 2022. This assessment can provide many benefits for students, including potential scholarship opportunities and possibly a qualifying concordant score that may be used to fulfill an assessment graduation requirement. Attached to this message is letter with additional information regarding the PSAT/NMSQT, as well as a section for parents to have their student opt out of this assessment. If you do not wish to have your student complete the PSAT/NMSQT and take advantage of these potential benefits, print and sign the attached form and have your student deliver the to the Main Office no later than Tuesday, August 16.

Parent Notification Letter - opt out

  • Junior PSAT registration: Juniors must opt-in to take the test on 10/12. A message has been sent via Focus Messenger to students listed as GRADE 11 in focus who have a weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher or who are enrolled in AVID 3.  If your student does not meet this parameter, they can still sign up using this forms link and then following the directions below:

11th grade students must register themselvesNote:  a student can only respond one time and they MUST be logged in to their PCSB O365 account on the device they are using to respond to the form. 

 

Directions to complete registration are below.

  • Login to Clever
  • Select Office 365
  • Open the email titled “PSAT/NMSQT Registration – October 2022”
  • Click the registration link
  • Respond to each item
  • Select “Send me an email receipt of my responses” (the email will be sent to their PCSB email in O365)
  • Click submit

 August 18th is the deadline

 

  • Senior SAT Testing: The October SAT School Day (10/12) is college reportable and is offered only for seniors who would like to improve their score for the purpose of college admissions and/or scholarship purposes.  The district already sent a sign up link students listed as GRADE 12 in focus who have a weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher.  If your student does not meet this parameter, they can still sign up using this forms link and then following the directions below:

12th grade students must register themselves - Note:  A student can only respond one time and they MUST be logged in to their PCSB O365 account on the device they are using to respond to the form.  If a student cannot register, they either already submitted a response, or they are not logged into their PCSB O365 account.
