Weekly Announcements Nov 15 - 19

Good evening, Warrior Families,

This is Julie Finley, Assistant Principal, with your Sunday call out:

  • Join us for a fundraiser to support Osceola Fundamental High School Athletic Booster Club. Dine in or take out at Glory Days Tyrone All Day on Thursday November 18th at 4088 Park St. N. St. Petersburg. Give your itemized receipt to the Osceola representative and up to 20% of the proceeds will go back to our Athletic Booster Club.
  • If you are interested in playing in the upcoming Osceola tennis season but have not received any emails from Coach Lense, please email him to be added to the contact list. His information can be found on the school’s website on the athletics page.

  • Quick reminder that tomorrow, Monday, November 15th, we’ll be facilitated the WriteScore Cycle 2. Your student will be in either session 1 (1st through 3rd period) or session 2 (5th through 7th period). For those in session 2, they will need to attend 1st lunch, even if they normally attend 2nd lunch. If they have not found their name on the locator yet, it is critical that they find a locator in the cafeteria or main hallways immediately when they get on campus in the morning to find A) their testing session and B) their testing location. Please make sure that they come to school with their school issued laptop fully charged.
  • The National Honor Society will be holding its annual Toys-for-Tots toy drive the week after Thanksgiving break. NHS members will earn points for donations, but all students are encouraged to donate new toys to those in need. To donate, please drop off your donations before or after school on Wednesday, December 1st through Friday, December 3rd in Ms. Holman’s room, room 222.
  • PTSA and 9th grade meeting will be held Thursday, November 18th at 7:00pm in the auditorium.  Please check the school website on Thursday if you wish to join virtually.
  • Please be reminded that there will be NO monthly meetings in December, ALL meetings will be face to face beginning January through the end of the year, with no virtual option.
  • Best Buddies will meet Friday, November 19th during 2nd lunch.
  • Sophomores! Come to room 203 on Monday and Tuesday afterschool to plan our themed hallway for Winter Week! Our theme is "Winter Wonderland." Please come with some ideas! 
  • Culinary club will resume after Thanksgiving break.  Club will meet on Dec. 2nd after school in Chef Long’s room.  Competition teams will meet this Thursday, Nov. 18th, after school in Chef Long’s room.
  • Financial Aid experts from St. Petersburg College’s Financial Aid office are hosting a virtual FAFSA support event Thursday November 18th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A link to register as well as flyer will be available on the accompanying email. FAFSA .jpg

  • Seniors come to the College & Career Center at lunch or after school until 3:00 to submit their FFAA application for Bright Futures and create your FAFSA ID, the first step in starting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. You will need to know your Social Security number to complete these tasks.
  • Dual Enrollment registration for the Spring 2022 semester at St. Petersburg College is open! The registration deadline for Spring is Nov 19.  Please be sure to email your counselor to begin the process of completing the SPC permission form and to be sure you meet the Dual Enrollment eligibility requirements.
  • NOVEMBER 19 is the Last Day to Register for EOC Retakes for Scholar Designation Eligibility. The sign-up link will be available on the accompanying email.

  • Students who have been issued a parking spot need to return their signed rules and regulations form to the bookkeeping office. If you have misplaced your form, please stop and pick up a new one to sign and return.
  • SPC students can pick up student IDs at the front desk.
  • Senior ads and yearbooks are now on sale.  The deadline for senior ads is February 1st, a link to purchase both are available on our school website.

  • Attention Warrior Families! Key Club has 3 great events in the works:
  • Socks-giving: Bring in packages of socks to donate to our homeless shelters in need! Drop-offs can be found around campus including in Mr. Clay’s room and Mrs. Loope’s Room.
  • Canned Food Drive: We’re collecting canned food donations for local food pantries. Food pantries are running low due to supply-chain disruptions and need our help! See the posters around campus for collection rooms.
  • Key Club will be holding its first ever Winter Week Movie Night, showing “Elf” on December 9th beginning at 6:30 PM. This will the biggest fundraiser of the year! All Proceeds will go to purchasing new clothes, supplies, and gifts for children in foster care through Fostering Hope Florida. Entry is free, but donations are encouraged at the gate! Concessions, including pizza, snacks, and hot chocolate will be sold. Join us in doing good for a fun night with friends, family, and Buddy the Elf!
