Update:

Good evening, everyone,

I had a meeting with Mr. Bohnet this afternoon regarding our veterans concert. The three elementary schools are definitely not able to make Friday, so we agreed that Monday is our last best option. Neither he nor I believed that postponing any longer than that would be wise, and also, after all of the work and preparation all of our OFHS Chorus members have put into this, we want to do everything we can to make sure that we have this event in spite of the obstacles that have made it difficult to put together this year.

Ms. Kibart, our accompanist, has been with us all the way and was willing to adjust to any of the changes thus far, so she will meet with us at the same time we had planned, 5:00 pm, Monday, to run through the music.

We will be setting up in the gym with risers, piano, speakers, microphones, (Plant Operations is moving the risers to the gym for us), and we will present our program in full concert attire as planned. Anyone willing to pitch in to help with set-up after school on Monday please come out, this will be another unique situation like the Fall Concert was (in the cafeteria). We will want to be sure to get pictures as well as video. I can use some of it for our Universal Studios application as well as pictures for the yearbook. Also, we have 500 programs printed and ready to go thanks to Courtney Thompson! Our silent auction is also in place and ready for Monday night. The auction opens at 6:00 pm. Thanks again Ms. Hempy for getting our sponsors!

As far as Scout Troop 431 is concerned, it does not look good at this point, but we'll see. Also, I do not know if we will have the elementary students with us - I have copied Mr. Bohnet on the correspondence with the other school principals, but it is a lot to coordinate with the younger ones and their parents when things change this much.

One final note: parents, I have to say these chorus students sound amazing. I am so proud of the work they have put in to honor our veterans this way. Anything that anyone can do to get the word out to our veterans in the community would go a long way - I know that it would really be appreciated by them.

Stay safe everyone - see you on Friday,

Mr. C
