Graduation Information Update as of 5/29/20

Dear Graduates and Families,

As the 2019-2020 school year comes to a close, I wanted to send an update on the status of graduation ceremonies.

As a community we celebrate and honor the accomplishments of the Class of 2020. Based on the feedback to the PCS graduation survey from over 7,000 students and family members, the district continues planning for in-person graduation ceremonies during July.

District staff continues to work with senior leadership from the Tampa Bay Rays, Philadelphia Phillies (Spectrum Field) and the city of Dunedin; however, exact dates and locations for each ceremony cannot be finalized until venue schedules have been set.  As you may have seen in the news, Major League Baseball schedules have not yet been solidified.  The district is also continuing to keep all options open, including the use of our school sites, and limiting the number of guests, should that be needed. As soon as locations, dates and times are confirmed, they will be communicated by both district and school leaders.

If health and safety regulations do not allow large group gatherings, further communication, including links to school-specific virtual graduation ceremonies will be sent.

Congratulations to all of the graduates in Pinellas County Schools!  Your teachers, family, friends and community are so very proud of all your achievements and look forward to celebrating you during your commencement ceremony.

Sincerely,

Michael A. Grego, Ed.D.
Superintendent
