Congressional App Challenge
Today, Yen Le, Oanh Le, Chau Nguyen and Thao Vo met with Congressmen Christ as he announced their APP was selected to represent our Nations Veterans.
Thank you to our students and for representing PPHS, Pinellas County Schools and our local community.
Please be sure to congratulate our incredible students!
Thank you to Mr. Clarke, Ms. Spencer and Ms. Makelele for their support.
From Mr. Patterson:
The PPHS STEM club was presented with a challenge and rose to the occasion. The challenge was to create an App to help Veterans access services and resources more efficiently. This “App Challenge” is part of US Congressmen, Charlie Christ’s Congressional App Challenge. Our students presented at USF St. Pete yesterday to 5 judges from local businesses such as Jabil and General Dynamics as well as retired members of the US Military. To add to the pressure, Charlie Christ was in the audience.
The PPHS team was one of two finalist with the other school being from Lakewood High School. As you can see from the image, the recognition and experience is something to be remembered and commended. The winning team’s App will be used by the Department of Veterans Affairs, recognized by US Congress, presented at our US Capitol Building, and a trip for the students to Washing DC.
I have included the link below to their Power Point presentation, the students also demonstrated live how their App works. It was truly impressive, and of course our students were amazing.
Please be sure to recognize the students involved in the challenge:
Yen Le, Oanh Le, Chau Nguyen and Thao Vo.
Also a big thank you to the Club Sponsors. Mr. Clarke, Ms. Spencer, and Ms. Makelele for their support and encouragement of our students.
Take a look at the link below, and it another great day to be a PPHS Patriot!
