SPHS JV Cheerleading Tryout Information
For Incoming Freshman
Tryout Clinic Dates will be Wednesday, May 31st from 12:30-2:00pm, Thursday, June 1st from 8:30-10:00 am for practice. You must be at every practice to be able to tryout. Please meet on the track.
Tryouts will be Friday, June 2nd from 9:00-10:00 am.
Squad will be announced after the tryouts are completed and scores are compiled. Squad will be posted on front office door.
If you make the squad- mandatory fitting on June 5th at 10:30 am for just the girls.
Parent meeting will occur on Tuesday, June 6th at 5:30pm in B201 for those who make the squad.
You must go online and print the cheerleading application on the school website www.pcsb.org/stpete-hs . You must have everything turned in prior to tryout dates or you will not be allowed to participate.
You will also need the completed athletic packet from the county. You can print off the packet from the county website at www.pcsb.org. Please look to the left side for extra curriculars/PE and click there. Then click on “participation forms”. Please make sure you are printing the High School Forms. Please keep pages 15, 16, 17 and 18. We do NOT need those back.
You must also have current insurance through the school. You must enroll online. Go to the county website again at www.pcsb.org. Click “PE/Athletics/Extra curriculars”. In the green shaded box will be an active link for the insurance. Please see back for more information.
To be eligible to make the squad, you MUST be able to attend the mandatory camp at Florida State University from July 28th-31st. There will also be mandatory practices leading up to camp that you must attend. They are July 17th- 20th and then July 24th and 26th.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT ALL PAPERWORK (APPLICATION PACKET AND ATHLETIC PARTICIPATION PACKET) MUST BE DROPPED OFF TO THE FRONT OFFICE (THERE WILL BE A BOX) NO LATER THAN MAY 23rd . ANYTHING TURNED IN AFTER THAT DATE WILL NOT COUNT.
