Shadowing is Open!

  • Shadowing at St. Petersburg High School 

     

    To shadow for our current programs and educational experiences, such as: 

     
  • 3DE by Junior Achievement  
  • Air Force JROTC
  • Center for Construction Technology
  • Exercise Science & Performance Education

    This shadowing opportunity provides 8th grade students the chance to learn about St. Petersburg High School by observing classrooms within the educational models above, along with other possible elective offerings while seeing the campus, with a current 3DE ambassador student at St. Petersburg High School.  Following is important information about our shadowing tour program: 

    • Shadowing tours are only available to 8th grade students 
    • We will schedule shadows Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 
    • Shadowing will last the full day, covering seven class periods 
    • Students will check into the front office at 7:15am and will be picked up from the front office promptly at 1:55pm. An adult should sign them in and out at the front office. If someone different is picking them up, please record that at drop off. 
    • Students will need to bring lunch. They will eat lunch in a designated classroom that will be given to them the morning of their tour. 
    • Shadowing is led by a 10th grade student in St. Petersburg High School's 3DE by Junior Achievement Instructional model. The shadowing student will follow the 3DE SPHS students schedule for the day. We cannot honor requests for grade level or friends. 
    • The tour consists of seeing 7 classes ranging from 3DE by Junior Achievement, Construction, Exercise Science and Performance Education, Airforce JROTC, general courses, general electives, and the different areas of campus.  
    • Students can select to either see AirForce JROTC or Construction Technology, if students want to see both then they will need to return for a second visit.  
    • Students can select to see Exercise Science and Performance Education, they will then be escorted to that class for one period with a 10th-12th grade 3DE ambassador and picked up at the end of class and returned to their tour guide 
    SPHS is a large indoor/outdoor campus with many stairs and different buildings; please dress accordingly, and please email millerjes@pcsb.org if there are any accommodations needed.

    Parents can not attend shadowing with their student, if they are interested in touring campus, they can contact Mrs. Roehm roehmk@pcsb.org to request a tour.  
    Please use the booking link below to schedule shadowing. A Microsoft forms link will be sent once you register that will need to be completed to select your areas of interest.
