Clearwater PTC’s Open House Is A Success
125 prospective students toured a wide variety of career, technical and adult education programs on display at the Pinellas Technical College Clearwater campus open house that was held Thursday night, September 22nd.
With more than 50 of full-time programs, apprenticeships and online courses to choose from, those who came were able to connect with instructors and get an up close look at the facilities. “Our goal is to make sure that students who come here have academic success and are placed on a job, ” said Assistant Director Eric McClendon. McClendon said that he was very pleased with the excellent turn out and the enthusiasm for the programs that are offered. “All of our teachers are focused and motivated to help students succeed. We don’t see it as just a job. We view it as making a difference in the community.”
ESOL program representatives were also on campus to showcase their programs that help English language learners strengthen English skills while gaining valuable career technical training.
A second Pinellas Technical College open house will be held Tuesday Oct. 18 at the St. Petersburg campus in preparation for the start of a new school term. The open house will be held from 5:30 pm-7:00 p.m.
