Changes at GBEMS

As this school year comes to an end, it is also the ending to a chapter here at Gulf Beaches. It is with great sadness for our school community that I share some changes occurring at Gulf Beaches for next school year. Our school secretary Mrs. Traci Messer will be retiring at the end of this school year, she has served Pinellas County Schools well, and has been with us at Gulf Beaches since our first year opening as a magnet program. We wish her well, as she enjoys the free time to visit with her grandson and travel anywhere her heart desires. We also are going to be missing two additional staff members. Our very talented Ms. Kathrine LaRose who has helped build and create our music program at Gulf Beaches, will be taking a position as the choir and electronic music director at Palm Harbor Middle School. This will be an amazing segue for her as she leads their program, but will also leave us a few notes short of a chord. Her ability and presense will not easily be filled. Lastly, Mrs. Ashley Giles has decided to follow her dream to become a middle school math teacher. She will be joining the staff at James B. Sanderlin as a teacher of middle school mathematics. We know they will be delighted with her addition, but the subtracting of her from GBEMS will be unequalled.  We wish each of these ladies well, and know that even as this chapter of life closes another is ready to be written. As we always say, once a shark, always a shark. So even though they may be leaving they won't be forgotten, and we hope they will still stop by from time to time.
