High school students honored at the Word and Image Exhibition

Students honored at the Word and Image awards ceremony


Sixty-seven students were honored at the High School Word and Image Exhibition ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Morean Arts Center. 
 
The annual exhibition combines art and writing into one work of art. This year’s theme is “If…." Students created a work of art and written personal narrative that align with the theme. Their artwork will be on display through Dec. 2 at the Morean Arts Center, 719 Central Ave. in St. Petersburg.


The following students received top awards:

Award of Excellence:

  • Shadine Henry, 12th grade, Lakewood High, Teacher: Jayce Ganchou
  • Ashley Ross, 11th grade, Osceola Fund High, Teacher: Brianne Gates
  • Maia Latherow, 12th grade, Palm Harbor U High, Teacher: Jay Titus

Pinellas County Art Education Association Young Artist Award:
