Pinellas County Schools Summer Bridge programs will be face-to-face this summer.
Summer Bridge provides engaging activities to prepare students for maximum success when the next school year begins. Most Summer Bridge programs will be June 21 to July 15, Monday through Thursday. New this year: Transportation will be available. Programs are being revamped at all levels.
The Rising Kindergarten - Kickoff to Kindergarten program will prepare children for kindergarten in August: www.pcsb.org/RisingK.
Elementary programs will offer themed lessons and virtual field trips to build math, science and language arts skills. Weekly themes, which will vary by grade level, include birds, animals, space, sports, rainbows, insects, amusement parks and the ocean.
Middle school programs will strengthen skills in math, reading, science and social studies. Activities will include project-based learning, virtual field trips, financial literacy lessons and STEM challenges. For the first time, middle school students in Summer Bridge will have opportunities to participate in electives, which will vary by school.
High school programs will help students build reading and algebra skills and meet the requirements they need to graduate and be ready for college. Programs include ACT Reading Prep, ACT Math Prep, and Algebra 1 Course Recovery and EOC Prep.
