Florida's First Lady Ann Scott Visits Little Cougar Preschool and Countryside High
Florida First Lady Ann Scott visited Little Cougar Preschool at Countryside High School as part of a statewide initiative to promote programs that enhance literacy skills in Florida schools.
During her visit on Oct. 27th, she was greeted by a group of students and staff that included two preschool students, two high school students in Countryside’s Early Childhood Education classes, Principal Gary Schelerth, Assistant Principal Greg Zornes, and the Little Cougar Preschool Director Jamy Hoch.
As part of the visit, First Lady Scott read a half a dozen books to nearly 30 students in the 3-year-old and 4-year-old classrooms.
“She encouraged the children with questions and ideas. She kept their attention throughout,” said Jamy Hoch. “It was a great morning and all were happy to have her visit,” Hoch added.
The students then presented her with a Little Cougar T-shirt and a certificate of appreciation. In return, First Lady Scott presented the preschool with several books for their library collection. In addition, she sent each preschooler, staff member and high school student that participated in the event an autographed picture with an inspirational quote.
