Principal's Message 3/21/2020
Hello, Ozona Families.
I hope this message finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. As we prepare for the weeks ahead, please visit the district site https://www.pcsb.org/coronavirus for PInellas County Schools most current updates.
In moving forward our primary goal is maintaining the continuity of learning for our Ospreys, in doing so we will be transitioning to digital leaning.
Below are immediate next steps. To maintain our learning momentum please be sure to engage your child in the academic enrichment activities this upcoming week.
- Next week, teachers will begin training on how to run a digital classroom and to plan for the lessons that will begin on Monday, March 30, 2020.
- In the meantime, students will engage in non-graded academic enrichment activities (during the week of March 23-27) available through our Student and Family Digital Learning Webpage. Please visit this webpage for grade-specific enrichment activities. There is also information for families who need assistance with technology and/or wifi.
- On March 30th, students will begin digital learning on Microsoft Teams, where teachers will provide class specific lessons and messages directly to our students. There is more information about Microsoft Teams on the student & family digital learning webpage in the link above.
- I will be working with a team to design a plan for early to mid-week distribution of laptops. I will communicate the plan via our Ozona Elementary School webpage and our PTA FB page.
Also, Nurse Kimmie will be on site Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 am-3:00 pm calling all parents with meds or supplies, assessing your/your child's needs and releasing meds back to families who need them. Embarking on this new way of work will be challenging, but I am confident we can and will adapt to this new way of work together. Let's support each other every step of the way!
