Pinellas teacher inducted into the Special Olympics Hall of Fame

Resource Teacher David Haines, who serves as director of Special Olympics Pinellas, was inducted into the Special Olympics Florida Hall of Fame.
The announcement was made on Saturday, March 4, during the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics Area VI games at Lakewood High School.
Mr. Haines has served as director of Special Olympics Pinellas for 17 years. The nomination letter for the award praised Mr. Haines’ support of new policies and programs, his efforts to expand opportunities for Special Olympics athletes, and his many accomplishments as a role model, leader and mentor.
